The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Association was formed in 1999, incorporated on January 26, 1999 and Launched on February 14, 1999, under the patronage of the Environmental Management Authority (EMA), The United Nations (UN) and Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association (TTMA) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
ARIA promotes professionalism, integrity and environmental awareness in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry of Trinidad and Tobago. The ARIA encourages the industry to promote cutting edge technologies and service to our customers and other stakeholders through training. The ARIA is also responsible for the generation of market expansion both regionally and internationally through the mounting of local and seminars, regional trade fairs, exhibitions and training.
The ARIA promotes education for all of its members; we offer courses in Air Conditioning and refrigeration at our technical institute – ARIA Technical Institute Ltd (ATI). The institute focuses on local and regional and international recognised training to ensure maintenance of required standards in Trinidad and Tobago. ARIA seeks to protect our global environment and the Caribbean while providing these services.
• Acting as a representative of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Local, regionally and internationally. • Assists with the generation of market expansion both regionally and internationally through the mounting of local, regional and international trade fairs, exhibitions and foreign trade missions; • Providing members with information on all local, regional and international developments and related matters of relevance; • Negotiating for and on behalf of ARIA members with Government, and other relevant stake-holders; • Acting as the liaison between the membership and the Government, specifically the Environmental Management Agency, Ministry of Trade & Industry, TTMA and other industries; • Offering education and assistance for local in the industry in the efficient use of and in the development of exports; • Assisting with the acquisition of professional assistance in the maintenance of required standards of safety, labour relations, wages and benefits, employee welfare, and communications; • Encouraging members to maintain and adhere to required standards and grades of quality in all technologies and services they provide; • Sourcing and distributing statistical information and relevant data on develops- Technologies, UN, and finance; • Assisting with the settlement of disputes through arbitration; • Representing members on all national and regional negotiation delegations; • Promoting joint ventures between members and foreign enterprises • Offer assistance in trained personnel for recruitment. • Representing on the following task forces, boards and committees for the purpose of consultation and participative dialogue; Environmental Management Agencies, National Training Agencies, Facilities Management & Maintenance Committee, ITO
ARIA Industry Training Organisation (ITO) The ITO was officially launched in December 15, 1999 and was the second ITO to be launch in Trinidad and Tobago. Its focus is to provide support for the introduction of alternative refrigerant in which would destroy the ozone layer. In 1987, Trinidad and Tobago, along with 74 countries signed the Montreal Protocol aimed first to limited and then phase – out completely the production and consumption of Ozone-depleting substances.
