Hindustan Seeds is the oldest firm in the Orissa state, Producing and Marketing hybrid and improved varieties of seeds. It was established in 1945 by Founder Late Shri Ghanshyam Das Kejriwal. Since 1945 Hindustan Seeds is giving service to the Farmers, Govt. organizations, NGOs of Orissa in agricultural field. The Trade mark of Hindustan Seeds is "Plough Brand".
Previously the company was producing improved variety seeds, but now as the demand is changing Hindustan Seeds is also producing hybrid variety of seeds. The Company is pioneer in producing and marketing Vegetable Seeds. It also produces all kinds of Cereal Seeds, Oil Seeds, Vegetable Seeds, Green Manuring Seeds, Cotton Seeds, Fruit Seeds, Hedge Seeds and Pulses.
We have a good network for marketing seeds. This company has many retail outlets in Orissa which is controlled by the company itself. The Outlets are in Titilagarh, Bolangir, Kesinga, Bhubaneswar and Delhi .We have appointed dealers at various districts of Orissa. HACI was established in 1975 under D.I.C, Bolangir as a S.S. I unit. It is Registered under N.S.I.C & E.P.M. HACI is formulator of plant protect Chemicals, Manufacturer of “Hind-O-Meal”(Neem Base Soil Conditioner).
Previously it was producing D.D.T, B.H.C which are now no more permitiable to be used as they were banned by Govt. of India . The reason behind its ban is unfriendliness of this chemicals towards environment. But in place of B.H.C, Govt. allowed to use lindane which is a gamaisomer, it has almost same features as B.H.C.
The main products of HACI are :
(i) Hind-O-Meal (Neem Base Soil Conditioner)
(ii) Carbaryl W.D.P.
(iii) Malathion 35% E.C
HIND-O-MEAL(Neem base Soil - Conditioner)
HIND-O-MEAL is a Neem base Soil-Conditioner. It acts as both Soil-Conditioner cum Fertilizer.The main ingredient of this fertilizer is neem which is easily absorbed by plants as well as soil. The other ingredients are 7% Nitrogen, 5% Phosphorous, 1% Pottasium, thus it is also popularly known as NPK fertilizer with the composition (7:5:1). For this reason it acts as a all rounder Fertilizer. Chemical fertilizers have side effect where as HIND-O-MEAL which is a Neem base Soil-Conditioner has no side effect. It is easily compatible with soil & also increases yield where as other chemical fertilizers only fulfill the requirement of N, P, K , Ca , NH3 etc. with side effects. Hind –o-meal has been recognized by all the Govt. of ORISSA Agricultural, Horticultural, Soil Conservation & Forest departments through trailing in their Crop fields.

Hindustan Agro Tech is a subsidiary unit of Hindustan Seeds (Pvt.) Ltd. HAT manufactures Different Insecticides, Pesticides and plant Growth Regulator.
