• Four Decades of Growth:
The Company takes pride in tracing back its roots since the foundation of this business was laid as a family enterprise in the Sixties. In the process of growth the entity transformed itself as a Private Limited Company in Eighties, and later as a reputed Public Limited Company in the early Nineties. Further, IDFC PE (India’s first dedicated infrastructure Private Equity Investor) also has equity participation with DARC since March 2007.
• Experience in transportation of various products:
We have the necessary infrastructure, experience and expertise of Transportation of all types of materials. Various categories of goods handled are Heavy Metals (Aluminum Rods, Copper Wires & Rods, Zinc & Lead Ingots, Iron & Steel), Ferro Alloys (Ferro Chrome, Ferro Manganese etc.), Refractories Products, Petroleum products (Packed & Bulk Lube, Packed & Bulk Bitumen), Chemicals, packaged FMCG goods, Project Goods (Cement, Power generation & transmission equipment, over dimension consignment), Petrochemicals (Polymer bags, PSF bales, Acrylic Fiber bales), Telecom products (Jelly Filled Telephone Cable Drums, Finished Cable Drums, optical fiber cable), Commodities (Cotton bales, bulk & packed vegetable oil, Food items, fertilizers, coal).

LOGISTICS SOLUTION
We are pleased to keep you apprised that we are one of the first fourteen players, who have signed agreement on 04.01.2007 with Indian Railways for private container trains operations and to have made foray in to this field; and also the only one North India based Transport Company. As road transport, when viewed in isolation has its demerits and vagaries but when optimally combined with rail mode the entire transportation becomes cost effective with quality service. Thus, logically our emphasis is towards multimodal operations so that in the times to come we are in a position to render quality cum cost effective service to our customers like your esteemed organization. DARCL now has plans and is all set to introduce Multi-modal Transportation. Under this model, DARCL customers can enjoy the advantage of transportation through rail as well as Barges/ships. Current Expansion plans in the anvil are running of container trains paving way for multi modal operations. As per the terms of agreement with Indian Railways, the company has the right to operate its container trains to / fro Indian ports viz. Kandla, New Mangalore, Marmugao (on the west coast), Tuticorin, Haldia, Kolkata & Paradeep (on the east coast) for EXIM traffic, besides domestic traffic all over the country except on Mumbai/JNPT, Delhi NCR route. With the introduction of Container Trains, DARCL expects to provide cost effective solutions to its valued customers and for this purpose TRANSRAIL division also stand created.
• DARCL is also a business associate of CONCOR-
INTEGRATION OF RAIL AND ROAD SERVICES FOR PROVIDING COMPLETE LOGISTICS TO CUSTOMERS
DARCL is also a business associate of CONCOR for “A” class Terminals for booking and transportation of Cargo from major centers of production and consumption by RAIL through containers. This would ensure integration of rail and road services for providing complete logistics to customers.
