Description. :- White Crystalline Powder
Solubility :- Freely soluble in Water, sparingly soluble in alcohol
Identification by IR :- a) Melting point is 226 to 230 deg cent
b)IR – concordant with RS
c)An intense green florescence is produced
d)Violet colour is produced
e)0.5 ml of solution S gives reaction with Sodium
Appearance of Solution :- Dissolve 5 g in 25 ml water. The solution should be clear and colorless
Acidity or alkalinity :- NLT 4.5 ml and NMT 5.5 ml of 0.01 M of NaOH is required
o- and p- Toluenesulphonamide :- o-Toluenesulphonamide : NMT 10 ppm
P-Toluenesulphonamide : NMT 10 ppm
