AMR (Automatic Meter Reading System) is the remote collection of consumption data from customers' utility meters. AMR use power-line carrier (PLC), PSTN or GPRS or GSM communication technologies.
Concentrator in AMR system plays many key roles. It acts as collector to gather and store various data from energy meters, terminal units, or any equipment that can conduct PLC communication, as controller to manage the devices, as repeater to bridge the utility central station with the meters or other devices on the power user side. |
