Founded in 1958, Zhengzhou Research Institute for Abrasives & Grinding is the unique comprehensive R & D unit for the abrasive industry in China . It has 660 staff members, including 72 senior engineers and 266 engineers.
The main research field of the institute covers conventional abrasive and tools ,superhard abrasive and tools, engineering ceramics as well as special-purposed equipment. Till now it has achieved more than 800 research results, among which, 15 items have won national level reward and 89 items have won provincial level reward. In the 60’s it created the first crystal of diamond. After that, a great variety of superhard abrasive products have been developed, namely CBN crystal, polycrystalline diamond, diamond and CBN tools, etc.
